First Marriage Walk Weekly Newsletter

Welcome and thank you for joining the weekly newsletter. I am amazed at how many folks have signed up to get this newsletter after just announcing it last Thursday evening. I am reminded of what it feels like to be waiting, standing and praying for my spouse to “come home”.

I setup this newsletter for a few different reasons. I think you’ll find this to be different than many or all of the e-subscriptions you may have signed up to receive. An archive of these messages will always be available on our website here.

First, an introduction:

My name is Seth Cox. I have a wonderful wife, 5 children and live in the technology center of the South, Huntsville, AL. I’ve been here basically all of my life. You may have heard of Huntsville recently as both Kiplinger and Steve Forbes independently called Huntsville the #1 city in America to withstand the recession. Our Mayor has been on TV talking about the jobs here, etc. I am a software developer by trade but also own a Business Consulting firm and help companies with their marketing, websites, management, sales and such.

In 2001, my first wife and I were separated. I desperately wanted our marriage saved. It was during that time that I felt very led to start this website. Three years later, when she remarried, I chose to move in a different direction. I later met my wife now (Crystal) and we have 3 children together. The oldest 2 are from my first marriage.

Of course, at the time I had no idea how important this website would become to so many people. Over time, thousands of new visitors would come every month, and even though my marriage was not “saved”, my heart for saving marriages remained. I became very involved in working with groups that saved dying marriages (originally for my own sake, and ultimately for the sake of others). My wife and I actively have a heart for marriages and the healing of them.

Throughout this time, many, many marriages have been restored. Occasionally I will get a “thank you for praying” email once someone’s marriage has been.

Another reason this newsletter was started was to bring interaction between the visitors. Most “standers” find that they feel very alone. Few people understand why you would want your marriage saved. “Just move on!” is a standard response we all know. Not so here. Everyone on this site is here because they want their marriage saved. We all know the pain, we all know the loneliness and we can all help each other. That’s the reason I setup the forum last week on our website here. The Facebook forum was not a great tool. This one is better. I encourage everyone to signup for the forum. It is private. Only registered members can read what you say and reply to it. Unregistered members can see nothing.

Lastly, as a final mention as to the purpose of this newsletter: I am a relationship person. I want to bring about a relationship-oriented, weekly newsletter to my website visitors. You will probably find some humor, some joy and some life in it. You’ll probably just find a piece of me in every one! And that’s the point. That’s why you searched for marriage help and found this website and that’s why I put it up. We all need encouraging. We all need something light and we all need to find new ways to love one another. Hopefully, this addition to your life will be just that.

If you’re reading this on the website and haven’t signed up for the e-newsletter, click here and sign up!

There are people all around you whose marriages are suffering. When you find them, get their email address, forward them an edition of this newsletter. Maybe they will sign up and be blessed as well! You will be thankful you did.

As a footnote: This website is funded by the advertising you see around the site. Typically these ads will be brought by Google and will be  mostly relevant to the reason you’re here. If they are, please take a moment to click on the ads and visit those websites. When you do, it helps to fund the cost of keeping this website up. Thank you!

May God bless you, make you stronger and your marriage even stronger.
