This week is going to be a special week. I believe it will impact marriages throughout this world. My wife and I have decided this week to fast and to pray. We’re seeking God’s direction for our own situations and also praying for your marriages this week; for each person that has come to MarriageWalk.com and asked for prayer for their marriage.

We’re standing with you in prayer because we believe it is God’s will for marriages to be whole, to be loving, nurturing, caring, selfless yet needs being met. We’ve also had new situations arise in our family that we felt led to spend this week praying for and asking for God’s wisdom and direction and breakthrough.

We’d like to ask everyone who feels led as well to fast and to pray with us this week. We are fasting Monday, Wednesday and Friday and spending those times on our knees before a loving God who hears our prayers. We are seeking His will in our own life as well as seeking Him for your marriage. Will you pray with us this week? Not only for your own marriage but for all marriages across this world that are hurting. And will you pray for my family too, that God will direct us in the way He wants us to go and for breakthroughs in our own situation? We need your prayers this week very much.

As we prepare ourselves spiritually for this week, and as we pray for God to soften hardened hearts, here are a few verses of encouragement to remember that He hears those who humbly come before Him:

Isaiah 66:2
Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the LORD. “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.”

Matthew 18:3-4
And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Ephesians 4:2
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Psalm 145:18-19
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
